Friendly Wrangle Over Warhol

Carolyne Zinko, San Francisco Chronicle, May 6, 2001

On Wednesday, Zuni Cafe co-owner Vince Calcagno, Kelley Johnson (sans husband Don), Paul Price (formerly of Banana Republic Home), Adrianna and Robert Sullivan, Donna Miller Casey, chef Ron Siegel and art gallery owners Serge and Tatiana Sorokko hosted a benefit for AmFAR (American Foundation for AIDS Research) with cocktails, a six-course dinner at Masa's and a live auction.

Jet-setter Denise Hale sat with Tatiana, fashion maven Maria Manetti Farrow and San Jose Symphony Conductor Leonid Grin, talking art, music and Russian politics. Hale and scientist Alexander Joffe tangled over the live auction item, an Andy Warhol donated by the Sorokkos and titled "Queen Margarethe II." Joffe emerged victorious $10,500 later and, in the spirit of philanthropy, pledged to donate it back.
