Sculptor Leonard Baskin was to be honored last night at the Serge Sorokko Gallery on Grant. He was one of five who created the new FDR memorial in Washington, D.C. Check out his sketch there of a bas-relief that didn't make the cut. He wanted to show Roosevelt speaking, but officials decided it looked more like "The Scream." They feared it would scare the kiddies.
