Sante d'Orazio

Sante D'Orazio was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1956. He studied painting and fine arts at Brooklyn College, and photography with Lou Bernstein, a member of the New York Photo League. His first professional assignment was for Italian Vogue. Since then, D'Orazio has shot for British, Italian, Spanish, German and American Vogue; Mademoiselle; MarieClaire; Interview; Playboy; Vanity Fair; Allure; American and British GQ; Esquire; Elle; InStyle; and Cosmopolitan. In 1994, he was awarded Grand Prize at the International Festival of Fashion Photography in Paris. American Photo names D'Orazio one of "The 100 Most Important People in Photography" in May 1998.
